Brian P. McGuinness
Owner/director, worked as a criminal defense investigator in the major crimes section of the Miami-Dade County Public Defenders Office from 1978 to 1985. He formed McGuinness & Associates in 1985. He has experience in a wide range of civil and criminal investigations spanning 32 years. He holds the following professional certifications:

He has extensive experience in providing litigation support services to plaintiffs’ attorneys, insurance defense attorneys, family lawyers, receivers, and criminal defense attorneys practicing in both state and federal court. He is a firm believer in continuing education and has attended dozens of investigative conferences on subjects ranging from financial asset investigations to the latest techniques in photography and skip tracing / witness location. He is a featured speaker at investigative and legal conferences and spoke on Criminal Defense Investigation most recently at the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators Conference in June 2010 and at the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Conference in June 2009.
Office Manager, Paralegal, Investigative Researcher. Susan excels in computer research and manages our skip trace division (www.eSkiptrace.com). She holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Miami and was a Miami area law office paralegal for over 20 years. She handles all cases dealing with immigration matters and record retrieval on a wide range of cases as she was a paralegal in a Miami immigration practice law firm. She is naturally inquisitive and often puts in that little bit of extra time that may break a case.
A former investigative reporter with the Miami News is an associate member of the firm and licensed through the agency. While with the Miami News, she handled the Federal Court beat. Ms. Payne has extensive journalistic investigative experience. She has assisted our agency on civil and criminal defense cases including undercover assignments. Karen is an excellent researcher; she was an integral part of our research effort on a high profile Federal criminal defense case that involved work in five states. Karen has also worked in the literary field as an editor and as an independent journalist. She wrote the story for New York’s Newsday on the murder of Giovanni Versace in Miami Beach. She speaks fluent French, conversational Spanish and conversational Creole, which is useful within Miami's Haitian community.
Arthur J. Murphy, Jr.
A nationally recognized specialist in marine fire investigations - Maze Consultants & Investigations, Inc. He holds the following certifications:

Certified Marine Investigator – International Association of Marine Investigators
He is licensed in several states as a private investigator including Florida, Maine, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. He is affiliated with our agency in order to supervise any Florida or Caribbean based marine fire investigations and will travel to the necessary location in order to conduct the initial cause and origin investigation. After such initial investigation, Mr. McGuinness will then handle photography, videography, witness location, back-grounding and interviews. Mr. Murphy will supervise each marine investigation due to his unique set of marine fire skills. He has extensive training and experience in this highly specialized field. He is a member of the Fort Lauderdale Mariners Club, American Boat & Yacht Council and several other marine organizations.
